Glimpse Social Discovery Conference
Last weeks was the 2nd annual Glimpse Social Discovery conference. Wow! We were totally blown away by the quality of the content as well as the speakers. There were some hilarious moments as well as serious ones. All in all we are glad to have attended. Here were a few of the key takeaways:
- Mobile and social are BFFs forever. Don’t try to fight it, they just are. Proximity and interest are key mobile features for marketers to take advantage of.
- Bang with friends wants to be more than just hookups. Eeks!
- Even the larger players don’t know what they want to do next. Companies like Eventbrite use their data to make decisions – and you should too. 🙂
- There is a huge difference between what’s creepy and what’s not with social discovery, but nobody can really tell until that line has been crossed.
At some points it felt like there might be as many questions as answers, but that’s ok. The great part is that we live in SF, a place where change is constant. A speaker at the conference commented that San Francisco is a town of beta testers – agreed 100%! We are quite a diverse and tech savvy market, that’s what makes it so fun to live here.
